Ananlysis of FLagged Company Reveals New HIgh-Risk Chemical Suppliers to Russia

 

On March 4th 2021, the US Government added 14 companies to the US Department of Commerce Entity List “based on their proliferation activities in support of Russia’s weapons of mass destruction programs,” restricting trade to these companies. These added entities included German company Chimconnect GmbH and Swiss company, Chimconnect AG. In this analysis, we explore companies linked to Chimconnect to identify other entities potentially posing a risk of diversion to Russia’s WMD programs. In the process, we identified several other companies, including two other Swiss chemical resellers and a logistics firm, which appear to be associated with this network, potentially also posing a risk of procurement for Russia’s WMD Programs.

We caution US businesses from engaging in trade with these entities, due to the risk of diversion of their materials to unauthorized use.
